Abstract

The article analyzes the challenges of training highly qualified academic personnel in the national regions of the Russian Federation, using the examples of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, and Tuva. The study is based on a wide range of sources, including statistical data, national census results, and information from educational institutions and government agencies.

It is emphasized that there are objective reasons for the declining interest of young people in academic and research careers, which are rooted in economic and social factors. The authors present data on various types of postgraduate scholarships allocated in the regions, highlighting their small amounts and limited availability. For comparison, a retrospective analysis is provided on the funding of science and scholarship provision in the USSR.

The article notes that legislative measures are being adopted at the regional level to support science and research. There is also a growing educational environment, with new scientific and innovation centers being established. Nevertheless, the existing problems are complex and require comprehensive solutions.

The article also highlights the declining number of humanities graduates in the republics, which negatively impacts the future of ethnic communities, their continuity, and broader societal development.
