Abstract

This is a review of the international conference “The Humanities in 21st century: Man, Society, Global World” to mark the 70th anniversary of Tuva Research Institute of Language, Literature and History (TNIIYaLI) and Tuva Institute for the Humanities and Applied Socioeconomic Studies (TIGPI). The conference was held in Kyzyl, Republic of Tuva, Russian Federation on October 1-2, 2015.

The conference program included a plenary session and five panels titled: “Peoples of Eurasia in historical retrospect. Archeology of Siberia in the context of the history of Central Asia”, “Turkic-Mongolian languages: past and present”, “Folklore heritage: theoretical and methodological issues of studying, editing, preservation and development under globalization. Current state and prospects of literatures of the peoples of Russia”, “Ethnosocial processes at the contemporary stage. Culture as a resource for humanitarian development of the people of Russia”, and “Financial and economic specificities of Russia’s regions: development and prospects”.

The collection of 87 abstracts of the conference, written by both full-time and correspondence participants, has been edited and published electronically, freely accessible in the electronic library of the “New Research of Tuva” journal.

The conference also included a meeting of the editorial board of the “History of Tuva” (Volume 3), a joint session of the Association of Mongolian Studies Scholars of Tuva and scholars from Mongolian Republic, and a trip to Chaa-Hol kozhuun (raion) of Tuva.
