A new approach to history of Tuva - the modernazational one - is considered in this article. This is a rather new concept for Russian social science, and the author assorts its features in detail. The history of Tuva appears through a prism of the theory of modernisation as a difficult process of transition from the traditional condition into the modern one which has started developing since the end of the 19th century and continues its dramatic course till now.References
