On the issue of the controversial episodes in the biography of Subutai

This article discusses the controversial moments in the biography of Subutai. An analysis of primary sources and circumstantial evidence, reasoned view of the existence of two Subutai. The first Subutai was the brother of Dzhelmeand in the first part of 1230’s he participated in the conquest of China. Second Subutai was also from Uryankai tribe and in the first part of 1230’s he fought in the West, conquering the Kipchaks, Bulgars and Saxin.References
