Journal History

The New Research of Tuva (Novye Issledovania Tuvy) was founded in 2009 by a group of researchers from the field of Tuvan studies, headed by Doctor of Philosophy Ch. K. Lamazhaa. It was originally supported by a grant from the Russian Foundation for the Humanities. The journal aimed to expand the horizons of Tuva studies in the humanities, help scholars open Tuva studies for the global community of researchers and to the wide public. New Research of Tuva is the only academic journal in the world devoted specifically to Tuva and Tuva studies.

In 2009-2011 the journal was registered with the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications and received an ISSN from the ISSN International Centre (ISSN).

In addition to the journal, the Tuva.Asia portal it is hosted on contains an newsfeed of Tuva Studies, announcement of major events, an electronic library, etc.

Over 300 researchers from Russia, USA, France, Germany, Mongolia, China, Ukraine, Turkey and other states have been our contributors since 2009.

Since 2011, The New Research of Tuva is featured in RINTs – Russian Science Citation Index

Since 2015, The New Research of Tuva is published on the Open Journal Systems platform (OJS).

In 2016, we have reviewed the journal mission and updated our Editorial Board and Advisory Board.

Since 2016, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in CiberLeninka.

Since 2016, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in PKP Index.

Since 2016, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in Google Scholar.

In 2017 the journal is included in the database Ulrich's Periodicals Directory.

Since 2017, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in ERIH PLUS.

Since 2017, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in DOAJ.

Since 2017 CrossRef agency assigns DOI to journal articles. 

Since 2018, The New Research of Tuva is indexed in Scopus (issues of the journal have been accepted for indexing since 2016).
