Social Well-Being of the Local Interethnic Community (the Case of Diagnostics in the City of Novosibirsk)

The results of a mass sociological surveyare summarized to characterize the social well-being of the population of the city of Novosibirsk. It is done by determining the degree of satisfaction of the representatives of various ethnic groups with certain life aspects, their sociocultural guidelines, the importance of various kinds of identity (civic, regional, local and ethnic), the patriotic sentiment and the attitude towards one’s own culture and language. The social well-being of various ethnic groups is considered to be an important component of the local ethnosocial situation which is monitored as part of implementing the nationalities policy at the municipal level.References
